Tulsa’s Saari and McGuire Named to NSCAA NCAA Division I Men’s All-East Region Team

Tulsa men's soccer players Ray Saari and Jake McGuire were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Men's All-East Region Team, as announced by the NSCAA.
 
Saari, a senior midfielder from Kansas City, Mo., was tabbed to the All-East Region first team.  He started 14 of 15 games, while missing five games due to injury.  Saari had the second-most goals on the TU roster with five and was tied for first in assists with four for 14 points on the year.  Two of his goals were game winners, while he went 3-of-4 from the penalty kick line, and had 14 of his 20 shots on goal for a 70.0 shots-on-goal percentage.  Saari was named to the American Athletic Conference second team and to The American All-Tournament team.
 
A senior goalkeeper from Chino Hills, Calif., McGuire was selected to the All-East Region third team.  He played all 1,905 minutes of the season in goal, picked up 63 saves and had six shutouts on the year.  He recorded a 1.09 goals-against average and a 73.3 saves percentage this year. McGuire picked up American Athletic Conference second team accolades, was tabbed to The American All-Tournament Team and was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of The American Championship.
