The Tulsa men's soccer team battled Oklahoma Wesleyan to a 0-0 tie in an exhibition contest at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  The two teams battled for 90 minutes of regulation, but did not play any overtime periods.

"I thought the first group's defensive pressure was really good," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "They wore Oklahoma Wesleyan down a little bit and made them uncomfortable.  I did think we weren't clean enough in the final third with that first group.  I thought the second period with the second team did not let up.  They made a huge, huge jump from Sunday to today.  I thought their organization was better, they pressed well as a group and they created a number of chances."

The Golden Hurricane had an 11-3 advantage in shots, including an 8-3 lead in shots on goal, and a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman Matthew Puig had a team-best five shots, four of which were on goal, while fellow newcomer Bernie Zuazua had two attempts that were both on goal.  Jake McGuire played the first frame in goal and had one save, while Marcel Da Silva logged the final 45 minutes between the posts and picked up two saves.

Tulsa returns to action against Central Arkansas on Saturday.  Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Stadium.

"Mentally tomorrow will be a huge test for us in turning it around and getting back into it," McIntosh added.  "Playing back-to-back games is a good challenge and will tell us a lot about our guys."
