Tulsa Men’s Soccer Team Inks 13 to National Letters-of-Intent

Tulsa signed 13 players for the 2017 men's soccer signing class, including junior-transfer Alex Harris and freshmen Cooper Clark, Sean Gavin, Adam Habib, Hunter Hasler, Rooks Hunter, Chase Niece, Zach Robbins, Brady Rosenow, Joe Ruiz, Devon Sutton, Troy Souvannasing and Thomas Wells, as announced today by head coach Tom McIntosh.  Harris, Ruiz and Souvannasing are spring enrollees.
 
"Overall it is a very good class," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "Ryan Pore and Justin Cook did an excellent job of putting this class together.  It is a deep class, has a good balance of athletes, but also guys that can possess the ball, make decisions in possession that we need from our players.  We filled a lot of needs in the class, which will continue to make our program more competitive, which is what we want to do on a yearly basis."
 
A 6-1 goalkeeper from Norman, Okla., Clark plays club soccer for OFC 99.  He helped his club team claim the 2016 Disney Games National League Championship, 2015 Southern Regional Premier League Championship, 2014 PLW Championship and 2014 President's Cup Championship, as well as four State Cup Championships.  Clark is an Olympic Development Program Regional Player and attended the Region III event in Argentina in 2016.  He is also a three-year letterwinner as a member of the Norman High School soccer team and was named as the OSSAA Defensive Player of the Year as a junior.
 
Gavin, a 5-10 defender from Mokena, Ill., plays club soccer for Chicago Magic PSG where he has started every game for the U18 team in the 2016-17 season.  He tallied four goals and eight assists and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Best XI at the Chicago Combine with the U16 team.  In 2016, Gavin helped his team finish fourth in the Mid-America Conference and competed in the US Soccer Development Academy Playoffs.
 
Habib, a 5-8 forward from Broken Arrow, Okla., plays club soccer for the Tulsa Blitz United.  He has helped the Blitz claim the 2016 Blitz United Fall Invitational Championship, 2013 and 2015 Oklahoma State Cup Championships, 2012 and 2014 Labor Day Plano Championships, and 2012 and 2014 Emerald Cup Championships.  Habib has 23 goals and 14 assists in the last three seasons with the Blitz, and for his efforts was tabbed to the 2015 Top Drawer Soccer Best XI.  Habib is also a two-year letterwinner as a member of the Bishop Kelley High School soccer team, where he has tallied 18 goals and 14 assists for 50 points.  He led BKHS to 45 wins between his sophomore and junior season, and picked up first-team all-district honors both years.  Habib was chosen to the first-team all-Metro as a sophomore and to the second-team all-Metro as a junior, and was tabbed to the All-VYPE first team last year.
 
Harris, a 5-10 midfielder from Tulsa, Okla., is a junior-transfer from Oral Roberts.  At ORU, he played in 36 games, scored two goals and had two assists for six points, and attempted 36 shots, 19 of which were on goal.  Harris also played for the Tulsa Soccer Club, winning the Oklahoma State Championship twice.  He was also a four-year letterwinner on the Jenks High School soccer team, scoring 36 goals and 30 assists in his career.
 
A 6-0 midfielder/defender from The Colony, Texas, Hasler plays club soccer for FC Dallas.  With his club team, he participated in the National League Championship in both North Carolina and Florida, played in the Regionals in both 2016 and 2017, and competed in the Dallas Cup the last two years.  Hasler also plays for Hebron High School, where he is a two-year letterwinner.  He was tabbed to the first-team all-district team last year, and served as the team-captain as a junior and senior.
 
Hunter, a 5-11 defender from Coppell, Texas, plays in the US Soccer Development Academy for the Dallas Texans.  He participated in the 2016 and 2017 Dallas Cup, and 2015 and 2016 Sarasota Academy Showcase.  Hunter has played in the USDA his entire high school career.
 
A 6-2 defender from St. Louis, Mo., Niece plays in the US Soccer Development Academy for St. Louis Scott Gallagher.  He has played in 82 games and scored six goals from his defender position.  Niece has been a starter for the top club team in St. Louis.  Prior to Scott Gallagher, he played for FC Dallas.
 
Robbins, a 6-0 midfielder from Omaha, Neb., plays club soccer for Elite Boys Academy.  He helped his club team claim the 2016 Phoenix PDT Championship, 2016 GSI Showcase Championship, 2015 Sam Shannon Showcase Championship and advance to three State Cup Finals.  Robbins is also a three-year letterwinner at Omaha Burke High School.  He has helped OBHS tally 31 wins in the last three seasons and finish as the District Class 'A' Runner-Up the last two seasons.  Robbins has scored 22 goals and 15 assists for 59 points in three years at Burke.  He earned first-team all-Metro, second-team Class 'A' all-state and second-team all-Nebraska honors as a junior, and was tabbed to the second-team all-Metro as a sophomore.
 
A 6-0 midfielder from Conway, Ark., Rosenow plays club soccer for the Mighty Bluebirds.  He has helped the Bluebirds win seven-straight Arkansas State Tournament Championships and participate in five Region III Youth Championships, while also being a Region III ODP team member the last two years.  Rosenow is also a three-year letterwinner at Conway High School.  He has helped his team post 34 wins in the last three seasons, while scoring 10 goals and recording 13 assists for 33 points.  Rosenow earned all-conference and all-state honors as a junior, and was tabbed as the 2015-16 Arkansas Boys Gatorade Player of the Year.
 
Ruiz, a 5-10 midfielder from Bartlesville, Okla., plays club soccer for Blitz United 99, and has recorded 20 goals and 30 assists.  He has played on the Region III team in games in Coast Rica, Italy, Arizona and Florida.  Ruiz is also a three-year letterwinner at Bartlesville High School, where he has tallied 14 goals and 12 assists for 40 points in the last three seasons.  For his efforts, he was named to the All-VYPE Northeast Oklahoma Soccer Team last season.
 
A 6-0 defender/midfielder from Trophy Club, Texas, Sutton plays club soccer for the Dallas Texans.  He competed in the 2015 and 2016 Dallas Cup, 2014 Dana Cup and 2014 Gothia Cup.  Sutton also plays for Byron Nelson High School, where he tallied 15 goals and nine assists as a sophomore, and currently has five goals and four assists this season.
 
Souvannasing, a 5-7 defender from Tulsa, Okla., plays club soccer for the Tulsa Blitz United.  He helped his club team win the 2016 Blitz Fall Invitational, the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region III Championship and 2015 Oklahoma State Championship.  Souvannasing also plays soccer for Union High School, where he helped his team post a 12-2-1 mark and finish as the Class 6A Runner-Up as a junior.
 
A 5-9 forward from Wichita, Kan., Wells plays for Kapaun Mount Carmel Catholic High School, where he helped his team post 50 wins in four seasons.  He recorded 76 goals and 31 assists at KMCCHS, including 50 goals and nine assists as a senior.  Wells was the Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, and was a two-time, first-team all-state, all-Metro and all-league performer, while being tabbed to the honorable mention all-league team as a sophomore.  As a senior, he recorded five consecutive games with a hat-trick to rank third in the nation for all-time in consecutive games with a hat-trick, and concluded his career with a school-record 14 hat-tricks.  Wells also plays club soccer for the U19 Wichita RUSH and was a member of the U18 Wichita Rojos.
