Tulsa Soccer Teams Host Double-Header on Saturday

The Tulsa men's and women's soccer teams will host a double-header on Saturday, March 4, with the men hosting the Tulsa Roughnecks beginning at 4:00 pm and the women hosting Oklahoma State at 6:00 pm. Both matches will be played at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $5 general admission and includes both contests.
The Golden Hurricane men recorded a 10-5-5 overall record last fall and advanced to the NCAA Championships after claiming their third-straight American Athletic Conference title. TU tallied 32 goals from 13 different players, including a team-best eight scores by freshman Matthew Puig. Tulsa ranked first in goals and points (91), and second in shots (279) and assists (27) in The American.
The Roughnecks tallied a 5-21-4 mark last year in their second year as a USL program.
The Tulsa women recorded an 8-10-1 overall mark, posted 34 goals and had two shutouts last season. Junior Rachel Thun was tabbed as the American Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year, while Thun and Tana Dake were named to the all-conference team, and Anna Williams was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
The Cowgirls tallied nine wins and played in the First Round of the NCAA Championship.
