Tulsa Men’s Soccer Team Adds Two to 2017 Signing Class

3/30/2017 11:43:00 AM | Men's Soccer

The Tulsa men's soccer team added Chase Bromstedt and Lucas Cline to the 2017 signing class for a total of 15 newcomers next season.

"Chase and Lucas are two good high-level late signings," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "We are excited to add a high school All-American in Lucas to our roster, as well as one of the top players of the Sporting KC Academy in Chase, as they both can compete to play right away next season. We needed another goalkeeper in addition to the early commitment from Cooper Clark to round out the core, and Chase is a very good all-around soccer player like many of our class."

Bromstedt, a 5-9 midfielder from Parkville, Mo., has played club soccer for the Sporting Kansas City Academy for seven years and the US Soccer Development Academy for four.  He has helped his team claim the US Youth Futsal National Championship three times, Missouri State Championship twice and finish as Region II US Youth Soccer Association Regional Finalists two times.  Bromstedt was a member of the ODP Region II Interregional team, was a ODP Virginia Friendlies Invittee and was the captain of the Sporting KC U18 team.

A 5-11 goalkeeper from Hannibal, Mo., Cline is a four-year letterwinner at Quincy Notre Dame High School.  He has led QNDHS to 23 wins in the last two seasons, including a Class 2A Sectional Championship as a senior and to the Finals as a junior.  Cline tallied a 40-21-5 career record, including 27 shutouts and a 1.23 goals-against average.  During his senior year, he was named as a Top Drawer Soccer All-American, picked up all-state team accolades and was tabbed as the WGEM Fall Athlete of the Year.  Cline also played club soccer for St. Louis Scott Gallagher, leading them to the 2016 State Cup Championship and 2015 State Cup semifinals.
