The Tulsa men's soccer team will begin the season in the friendly confines of the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on Friday, August 25 against #25 Wisconsin. Game time is set for 8:00 pm and will follow the women's soccer game against Kansas that will begin at 5:30 pm.
The University of Tulsa athletics is waiving the admission fee to the Golden Hurricane Soccer home openers this Friday, Aug. 25, in an effort to assist the families affected by a tragic July 17 automobile accident on I-35. Donations will be accepted at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium entrance and all funds will go to the affected families.
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on TulsaHurricane.com/watch. There is a 24HR Pass, a Monthly Pass and Yearly Pass that allow you to watch all TU home men's and women's soccer, volleyball and softball games depending on the package purchased.
The Golden Hurricane returns 15 letterwinners, including seven starters, from last year's team, which tallied a 10-5-5 overall record, won the American Athletic Conference tournament title for the third-straight season and advanced to the NCAA Championship.
Tulsa played three preseason contests, topping Oral Roberts and Richland Junior College, both by a 2-1 score, but dropped a 2-1 decision to Rogers State.
The Badgers, which finished the 2016 season with an 11-4-4 mark and a second-place Big Ten finish, return 20 letterwinners and eight starters to this year's team. UW lost 1-0 to both Creighton and UIC in their exhibition contests.
