Tulsa Falls to New Mexico State Late, 42-28

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Chris Barnes ran for 233 yards and two touchdowns, including a 79-yard scoring run, as New Mexico State rallied to beat Tulsa 42-28 on Saturday night.
The Golden Hurricanes (3-4) struck twice in the opening quarter, with Josh Blankenship hitting Donald Shoals with a 12-yard pass and Ken Bohannon scoring on a 2-yard run.
The Aggies (2-4) responded in the second quarter when K.C. Enzminger hit Alex Davis with a 36-yard pass, and Damion Ocampo dove in from 2 yards to tie it.
Bohannon scored on a 4-yard run to put Tulsa back on top, but the Aggies tied it again before halftime when Ocampo found Michael Bangs for a 17-yard scoring pass on a fake field goal.
New Mexico State drove 80 yards in eight plays to take its first lead at 28-21 on a 4-yard run by Barnes. The Golden Hurricanes answered when Blankenship connected with Shoals from 76 yards out for the pair's second score.
The Aggies scored twice more, including Barnes' 79-yard touchdown run, to pull away.
Barnes finished with 21 carries.
Blankenship went 14-for-26 and 306 yards, and Shoals had a career-best 11 catches for 271 yards for Tulsa.
