Tulsa Defeats Oral Roberts In Overtime, 89-81

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Marcus Hill hit a game-tying layup with 3.3 seconds remaining, then scored the first basket in overtime as Tulsa held off city rival Oral Roberts 89-81 Sunday.
Tulsa (6-2) made all four its field goals and 9 of 12 free throws in outscoring Oral Roberts 18-10 in overtime.
Tulsa squandered a 13-point second half lead in nearly losing to Oral Roberts (3-4) for the second consecutive year.
The Eagles took their first lead of the second half at 65-63 with 3:28 left on two free throws by Josh Atkinson and grabbed a 71-69 advantage when Chris Cameron hit a 3-point shot with 19 seconds left.
Cameron poured in a career-high 19 on 7-of-11 shooting. He was 4-for-7 on 3-pointers.
Guard Dante Swanson tied David Shelton for game-high honors for TU with 17 points each. Swanson made a crucial trey in overtime that gave TU an 81-77 advantage with 1:43 remaining.
Center Kevin Johnson had 15 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks for Tulsa. Hill and Greg Harrington added 13 points each, but TU shot just 40.6 percent from the field, including 30.8 percent in the second half.
ORU trailed 53-40 with 17:29 left in the game, but limited Tulsa to nine free throws and an inbounds dunk by Johnson over the next 15 minutes. Tulsa could not generate a field goal out of its offense until Harrington scored on a drive with 2:39 left that gave TU a 66-65 advantage.
Guard Markius Brown matched Cameron with 19 points for ORU, but had 16 of those in the first half. Adkinson finished with 15 points, including 5 of ORU's final 8 points in regulation, while Spencer-Gardner had 12 points and four assists before fouling out with 4:30 left.
