Tulsa's NCAA Tournament History

Tulsa is making its 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament this
year, and 11th since the 1982 tournament. The
Hurricane is making its sixth NCAA Tournament
appearance in the last seven years, just missing
out in the 1998 season. This is the first time in
which Tulsa has been selected to play in the
South Regional. Tulsa has never been a #7 seed
before this year's tournament.
? This year's first
round 89-62 win over UNLV marked the fifth time
in the last six years of making the NCAA
Tournament field that Tulsa advanced past the
first round. With a 69-61 victory over
Cincinnati, Tulsa advanced to the "Sweet
Sixteen" for the third in school history,
all coming in the last seven seasons. The two
previous times that Tulsa has advanced to the
"Sweet Sixteen" came in 1994 and 1995.
? Tulsa has a 9-11
record in the NCAA Tournament. The Hurricane has
an 8-5 record in the 1990s. In 1994, Tulsa, a #12
seed, advanced to the "Sweet Sixteen"
with victories over UCLA and Oklahoma State. In
1995, as a #6 seed Tulsa defeated llinois and Old
Dominion to advance to the round of 16.
