Tulsa's Swanson Named WAC Player of the Week

Denver, Colorado - University of Tulsa guard Dante Swanson has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week, as announced by the league office today.
Swanson, a junior from Wagoner, Okla. (Wagoner HS), averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in a pair of victories last week.
In the season opener against Grambling, Swanson had team-highs of 19 points, seven assists, three steals and two blocks, while adding eight rebounds. On Saturday, he scored a team-high 18 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks vs. Morris Brown.
For the week, Swanson shot 12-of-24 from the field, 9-of-17 (.529) from three-point range and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
Tulsa is back in action Wednesday night, as the Golden Hurricane hosts the Arkansas Razorbacks in a 7:08 pm tipoff at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
