Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Kevin Johnson had 16 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots in No. 17 Tulsa's 62-46 victory over Southwest Missouri State on Saturday night.

Southwest Missouri (2-4) closed to 38-36 with 8:07 remaining, but Tulsa (5-1) pulled away with a 24-10 game-ending run.

Johnson sparked Tulsa early in the second half with two straight baskets, but Southwest Missouri's Shelton Colwell countered with three straight field goals to get the Bears to 34-28.

But poor shooting by Southwest Missouri - 31.5 percent on 18-for-54 from the field, including 0-for-14 for the 3-point range - made it almost impossible for the Bears to stay with Tulsa.

Southwest Missouri State coach Barry Hinson, an Oklahoma product who has never beaten Tulsa in four tries, was cut on the left cornea late in the game when he collided with one of the referees. He continued to coach the rest of the game.

Jason Parker added 13 points for Tulsa, and Jarius Glenn had 12. Monwell Randle led Southwest Missouri with 17 points.
