Harrington Earns First-Team All-WAC Honors

Senior guard Greg Harrington was named to the WAC's first team as voted on by the league's coaches.

Denver, Colorado - University of Tulsa senior guard Greg Harrington was named to the Western Athletic Conference first team as voted on by the league's coaches, the WAC announced today. Juniors Kevin Johnson and Dante Swanson earned second-team accolades. Swanson also earned all-defensive team honors. Tulsa had the most selections on the WAC's first- and second-teams among the 10 conference members.

Harrington, at 6'2", averages 12.8 points and leads the WAC with 5.4 assists and an .868 free throw percentage. He became the school's all-time assists leader earlier this season and now has 531 career assists. Harrington also ranks sixth on the school's career scoring chart with 1,451 points and has played in 136 games, the most for any Tulsa player.

During his career, Tulsa has posted a 105-31 record. Harrington has 75 career double-figure scoring games and has led the Hurricane in assists in 59 career games.

Johnson earns second-team honors for the second consecutive year. He led the Hurricane in scoring with a 14.6 average, while grabbing 5.2 rebounds and blocking 1.9 shots per game. Johnson led the WAC with his .581 field goal percentage and was second in blocks (1.9), fourth in free throw percentage (.813), ninth in scoring (14.6) and 16th in rebounding (5.2).

The 6'7" forward had 25 double-figure scoring games and led the team in scoring 11 times. In WAC games, Johnson's scoring increased to 16.9 points while scoring over 20 points in six league contests.

In addition to earning second team merits, Swanson also claimed all-defensive team honors for the second straight season. Swanson, a 5'10" guard, averaged 12.6 points and 3.6 rebounds. He leads the nation in three-point percentage at .551, and is also shooting 55-percent from the field and 79-percent from the free throw line.

Swanson was twice named the WAC's Player of the Week this season. He also averages 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals on the season.
