Softball Team Opens Eight-Game Homestand with Pitt State

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball squad returns to the friendly confines of The Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex on Tuesday, with a non-conference doubleheader against Pittsburg State at 5 p.m.

Tulsa leads the overall series 1-0, after defeating the Gorillas 4-0 in the opening game of the 1997 season. TU, now 39-12 on the season, has already assured itself of its first winning season in the softball program's history. Pitt State, coached by former Hurricane assistant Jenifer Wells, enters the contest with a record of 18-28.

The Hurricane will also have doubleheaders on Thursday, April 25, and Saturday, April 27, against San Jose State and Fresno State, receptively. Thursday's action will start at 5 p.m., while Saturday's action starts at 1 p.m.
