Tulsa Head Coach John Phillips:
"Obviously, none of us our pleased with the outcome. At times in the game, where it was so sluggish and not productive on our part is difficult to describe. We've worked and prepared ourselves to get to this point, and then really did not relax and play the game until the last 10 minutes. Why that's the case, I can't pinpoint. I felt like we were uptight. Part of it was their defensive plan, which was to back off and give us the open shot early. A lot of shots went in and out, and we lost our confidence pretty quick until the last 10 minutes. It was a burden on the offensive end, it was our inability to execute on the offensive end. Defensively, we gave up too many offensive rebounds. Our defense at times was pretty good. Woods is a very, very good guard and caused us some problems. Brett had some turnovers that hopefully he won't make under normal circumstances. I know he's going to get his baptism under fire. He's going to have a lot of very, very good days. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be fine."

"We have to go back to work. I know the desire to win is there. We just have to make sure we get over the hump."

"I honestly thought we'd win the ball game when we got it to overtime. We didn't get a couple defensive rebounds at the beginning of overtime. I thought we played adequate defense during that time. We had some opportunities. Jarius started taking the ball to the basket, and pretty soon we were able to score against them. We gave up some offensive rebounds in the overtime and we turned it over a couple of times where I felt like that was a big difference in the overtime."

"You have to give Wright State credit. They hit their free throws when they had to hit them. That's the mark of a good team, when you're on the road to win the game."
