Final Day of Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival Rained Out

Tulsa, Okla. - The final three games of the Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival were rained out. Mother Nature allowed the tournament to complete the first two days as all six teams finished four games.
Saint Louis and UAB were only able to finish three innings before heavy rains and lightning moved into the area making playing conditions unplayable. The Blazers were named co-champions along with Tulsa, as both teams finished with 3-1 records.
UAB's Erica Mascarenas was named the festival's Most Valuable Pitcher, while TU's Julie Shafer was named the Most Valuable Hitter. Mascarenas won three games in the tournament, including a pair of one-run games over Texas Tech and Centenary. Shafer finished the tournament with six hits, in route to a .600 batting average over the weekend.
