FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Bryan Hopkins scored 30 points to lead SMU to a 79-60 victory over Tulsa on Tuesday night in a play-in game at the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

Hopkins made 10 of 13 shots, going 6-for-8 from 3-point range to lead the eighth-seeded Mustangs (12-17), who advanced to play top-seeded Nevada in Thursday's quarterfinal.

Jarius Glenn scored 17 points to lead Tulsa (9-20), which posted its first 20-loss season since 1988. Guilherme Teichmann and Jason Parker added 14 points apiece.

The Golden Hurricane took a 40-38 lead early in the second half on a 3-pointer by Teichmann. The Mustangs, who shot 68 percent in the second half, proceeded to score on 16 of their next 20 possessions to take control.

Hopkins scored 16 points in the first 10 minutes, then went on a 20-minute scoring drought. Hopkins finished with a flurry, including a four-point play that made it 74-59 with 3:38 remaining.

Patrick Simpson added 20 points and Justin Isham had 10 for SMU.
