Tulsa Post-Game Quotes
Head Coach Steve Kragthorpe:"They beat us in all phases of the game. We did not play very good football tonight. We didn't take advantage of some opportunities early in the game. We didn't get off the field on third down conversions. We had them pinned back on their own goal line in the first drive of the game. We didn't take advantage of some red zone scoring opportunities that we need to take advantage of. We didn't score a touchdown tonight."
On the Team's Effort-
"According to effort on the field, I'll have to evaluate that with the film. It occurred to me that we did give good effort, but we didn't execute. When you're not executing plays you're not going to win football games. If you're not scoring any points, you're certainly not winning games."
On the Early Fourth Down Conversions?
"We thought we could make it. We have made some fourth down conversions before. We just felt we were in the position where we wanted to score a touchdown."
On a Frustrating First Home Game-
"It is frustrating. I don't care whether it's a home, on the road, your first or your 12th game of the year, it's frustrating either way. I don't think it has any bearing on the occurrence and when it happened."
Quarterback James Kilian:
"It was a very frustrating night to say the least. We didn't take advantage of any of the opportunities that we had and we drove down to score and we didn't get anything, and you can't win games when you do that. We should be able to get two yards any time and we couldn't get them in."
"We need to get together and go to work. We've only got each other now, so we need to get together as a team and as a family, and that's the only way we're going to get it done."
On the first fourth down conversion--
"It was just a call and we tried to get an advantage rolling to the right, and they did a good job of filling the holes and there was not a place to cut back. They did a good job of defending the play."
"Any time you get down in the red zone, you have to score. They answered. They came out and scored a touchdown, and so we needed to answer and we couldn't do it. It gave them momentum and we couldn't get anything going all night momentum-wise."
