Tulsa, Oklahoma - A young Tulsa Golden Hurricane basketball team plays host to the No. 5-ranked Okahoma Sooners on Wednesday night in front of a sellout crowd at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. It's the first time that the Sooners have been back to Tulsa since the 1985 campiagn, when the Hurricane claimed a 104-89 victory against the nation's eighth-ranked Sooners.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:08 p.m. Standing room only tickets will go on sale beginning at 5:30 pm at the Reynolds Center at a cost of $15.00. The sellout is the 38th at the Reynolds Center for the Hurricane since opening in December 1998.

The Sooners come into the game with a 3-0 mark after wins against Samford, Binghamton and Belmont. It's the first road contest for Oklahoma this season. OU is led by the Big 12's Preseason Player of the Year, Taj Gray, and also boasts senior stars Kevin Bookout and Terrell Everett.

With only five returning lettermen and eight scholarship newcomers the Golden Hurricane has a 1-2 record on the season after garnering the first victory of the Doug Wojcik era on Saturday night against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Tulsa has three double-digit scorers, led by senior Anthony Price's 13.7 average, while junior forwards Charles Ramsdell and Darold Crow average 13.3 and 10.3 points, respectively.

The Hurricane has been without starting point guard Rod Earls, a junior college transfer, since he suffered a foot injury the night before the season opening game.

The game can be seen live on the internet at www.tulsahurricane.com, and can be seen locally on WB19 television. As usual, all Golden Hurricane basketball games can be heard live on Newstalk 740 AM KRMG, as well as on Tulsa's official athletics website.
