• Quarterback Paul Smith has now thrown for over 200 yards in six games this season, which is the most since Gus Frerotte had nine 200+ yard passing games in 1993.
• Tulsa has now scored over 30 points in 19 of 34 games since Steve Kragthorpe took over as head coach in 2003.
• Julian McGowan had his third interception of the season in just his fifth game this year on the first pass play of the contest for UTEP.
• Senior Brandon Lohr had his first career interception in his 46th career game played for the Hurricane.
• Tulsa's 17 first quarter points is the most in the first quarter this year for the Hurricane. The previous high was 13 points against Houston.
• Senior Garrett Mills had his 36th consecutive game with a reception, which leads all the nation's tight ends.
• Paul Smith threw his fourth interception that was returned for a touchdown this season.
• Tulsa had a season-best 24 first-half points against UTEP, bettering the 21 points that the Hurricane scored in the first half against Memphis and Rice.
