Tulsa, Okla.- - The University of Tulsa softball team dropped its Western Athletic Conference home opener, 3-0, to Hawai`i on Monday evening at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. The win improved the Wahine's record to 21-20 (2-5 WAC) on the season, while Tulsa fell to 21-23 (2-2 WAC). The two teams conclude their series on Tuesday with a double-header at 5 p.m.

Junior Julie Shafer led the Tulsa hitters with a pair of infield singles. Freshman Lindsey Tower, junior Katie Torres, sophomore Lindsay Galloway and freshman Sara Dyer also recorded hits for the Hurricane. Sophomore Julie Fennell was saddled with the loss after striking out seven UH batters and scattering five hits.
