Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa First-Year Head Basketball Coach Doug Wojcik officially announced today the appointment of Andy Kohut to the position of Director of Basketball Operations.
Kohut, 25 (9-27-79), spent the past two years at Michigan State as a graduate manager. His responsibilities included opponent scouting, digital video editing and summer camp coordinator.
A 2003 graduate of Purdue University, Kohut was a manager for the Boilermakers basketball team for three seasons. During his senior season, he coordinated a team of nine managers. Kohut was involved in opponent video breakdown, statistical work, assisted with writing scouting reports and practice coordination, as well as planning and preparation for summer camps.
"Andy has been around big-time college basketball for a long time, even for someone so young. He was the head manager at Purdue under Coach Keady, and did a great job for us at Michigan State. He knows our system, is very loyal and very intelligent," said Wojcik. "He'll bring a great work ethic and knowledge of our video equipment as well as the Michigan State playbook and drills, so he'll make it an easier transition to the new system."
Kohut earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 2003 from Purdue, and will receive his master's degree in sports administration from Michigan State in May.
