Tulsa Basketball Signs Two Players to Letters-of-Intent

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa Head Basketball Coach Doug Wojcik announced today the signing of two student-athletes to national letters-of-intent, including one high school senior and one junior college transfer.
The Hurricane signed Darold Crow of Seminole State (Okla.) College and prep senior Ray Reese of Westchester (Calif.) High School.
Crow, a 6'7", 210-pound forward, was a two-year letterwinner at Seminole State College in Oklahoma. In his two years, Crow averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds while starting 30 of 60 games. He also shot 45-percent from the field and 31-percent from three-point range.
He averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds in his sophomore season while leading his team to a 23-13 record. Crow led his team to the NJCAA national tournament, and was rated as the No. 4 prospect at the national tournament by Hoopmasters.com. Crow was named to the NJCAA Region II all-tournament team.
As a freshman, Crow averaged 10.8 points and 5.9 rebounds, while shooting 49-percent from the field as his team posted a 15-15 record.
"Darold is a scoring forward who played on winning teams at Seminole State. He is an excellent defender and has been well-coached in that area," said Wojcik. "He can score inside with his back to the basket, and can also score from three-point range."
Crow played is high school basketball at Wolfforth Frenship High School in Lubbock, Texas. As a prep senior, he averaged 19.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while earning District 4A MVP honors. Crow was a two-time all-district selection and also earned all-region first team merits as a senior.
"Darold is a very versatile player. He's a good scorer on the block and has good perimeter skills as well. He can shoot the three, and can handle the ball. Darold is a very unselfish player and a good rebounder who does a lot to help his team win," said Dr. Tom Mills, Seminole State head coach. "He is a great kid with high character and always gives outstanding effort."
Reese, a 6'6", 205-pound forward, brings solid credentials from the high school ranks. He played for the nation's fourth-ranked Westchester High School team in Los Angeles, California, and teamed with two players who also signed major college scholarships with Louisville and Connecticut.
Reese scored 11.0 points and had a team-leading 8.5 rebounds in his senior season on a team that posted a 25-3 record and won the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division I state championship.
In leading Westchester High School to the CIF Championship as a senior, Reese was named the MVP of the state tournament.
"Ray is very powerful and a good athlete. He played in an incredibly successful high school program at Westchester High School," said Wojcik. "He has a winning attitude and is an excellent student. Ray has a variety of basketball skills."
