- With its win, Tulsa snapped a 15-game road non-conference skid. Prior to tonight's victory, the last time TU won on the road during a non-conference was in 1996 at Oklahoma, 31-24.
- Junior running back Brandon Diles earned his first start of the season, and the fourth of his career.
- Tight end Garrett Mills extended his consecutive reception streak to 30 straight games with a catch on TU's first play from scrimmage.
- For the third straight game, Garrett Mills caught the Hurricane's first pass.
- Garrett Mills improved his nation-leading receptions by a tight end to 26 catches for 333 yards in three games played this season.
- Garrett Mills' 10-yard touchdown in the second quarter was the first of the season and the 15th of his career.
- Garrett Mills surpassed the 100-yard receiving mark for the second straight game (152 vs. OU last week).
- True freshman defensive back Josh Burris earned his first career start and his first career interception.
- Tulsa recorded a safety for the first time since the second game of the 2002 season at Arkansas State.
- The safety against the Golden Hurricane in the first quarter was the first since last season at SMU.
- Senior Brad DeVault moved into sixth place on the school's career scoring list with his field goal in the second quarter. DeVault currently has 197 career points.
- Brandon Diles' 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the longest touchdown run from scrimmage by a Golden Hurricane player this season.
- Cauvey Jackson produced his first career game with multiple rushing touchdowns with two scores tonight.
- Tulsa registered a 100-yard rusher and a 100-yard receiver in the same game for the first time since 2002 when Montiese Culton (111) and Eric Richardson (197) against Kansas.
- For the second straight game, Tulsa held its opponent to under 100 yards of total offense in the first half (OU-92/NT- 59).
- Paul Smith attempted the first two punts of his career and averaged 45.0 yards per punt.
- Paul Smith completed the longest pass of his career with a 56-yard strike in the third quarter.
- Nick Graham intercepted a pass for the third straight game.
- Idris Moss scored his first career touchdown with a 32-yard reception from Paul Smith in the third quarter.
- David Johnson made his second appearance of the season when he came off the bench in relief of Paul Smith in the fourth quarter.
- Tulsa held its opponent to without a touchdown for the first time since the 2002 season when the Hurricane shutout UTEP at home, 20-0.
- Tonight's 47-2 victory marked the largest margin of victory on the road since a 58-0 win at Louisville on Oct. 17, 1964.
- Anthony Germany returned a 32-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
- Tulsa reached the 50-point plateau for the third time under current Head Coach Steve Kragthorpe.
- TU's 54 points was the most scored by the Hurricane since tallying 56 points over UTEP in 2003.
