The University of Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Rice on Friday night at the Rice Soccer Stadium in Houston, Texas.  The Golden Hurricane fell to 5-8 on the season, including a 1-3 mark in Conference USA, while the Owls moved to 10-3-1 and 2-3 in the league.

Rice's Erin Scott picked up a deflection off a corner kick taken by the Owls and knocked in the lone goal of the night. This was Scott's fifth goal of the season.

Tulsa and Rice each posted 13 shots, while TU recorded eight shots-on-goal to the Owls four. Golden Hurricane goalkeeper Kendall Harclerode earned three saves on the night for six this season in limited action.

"We had a lot of opportunities throughout the game, especially in the first two minutes, but we couldn't finish," Head Coach Rena Richardson said. "We had a good chance late in the game, but it hit the post. We just couldn't finish tonight."

The Golden Hurricane will take on Houston on Sunday, October 15th beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Texas.
