Tulsa Hoops Team Closes Out Exhibition Season Tonight

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's basketball team plays its final exhibition game tonight against East Central University at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

Tulsa is coming off of an 84-42 victory over Cameron in the first exhibition game last week. Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik used all 15 players in a balanced attack for the Hurricane while 13 players scored in the game.

Senior Charles Ramsdell led the way with 11 points, followed by 10 each from junior Rod Earls and freshman Ben Uzoh. Freshman Jamel McLean was the leading rebounder with eight boards, followed by Ramsdell and sophomore Sam Mitchell with seven each.

Tulsa has played 48 exhibition games since the first one in the 1969-70 season. The Hurricane has posted a 46-2 record in exhibition contests and has won its last 17 exhibition games.

The Hurricane is coming off of an 11-17 overall record last year. Tulsa enters the 2006-07 season with four returning starters and seven letterwinners. The starters back from a year ago are frontcourt players Darold Crow, Ramsdell and Mitchell, while Brett McDade returns to the backcourt.

McDade is the returning leading scorer with a 10.1 scoring average, while Ramsdell is Tulsa's leading returning rebounder with a 6.2 average.
