March 28, 2006
Tulsa, Okla. - For the first time since the complex was built, Tulsa will be host for the annual Border War at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. The yearly event rotates between the three schools, OSU, Arkansas and Tulsa. Wednesday will be the first time the Golden Hurricane has played host to the event on campus.
The Lady Razorbacks and Cowgirls will start the event with a 3 p.m. contest. Arkansas and Tulsa will play 5 p.m., while TU and OSU will conclude the event at 7 p.m.
Arkansas and Tulsa have met 12 times prior to this season, with the Lady'Backs taking eight meetings. UA won last season's meeting 7-2 at Lady'Back Yard.
OSU has won 18 of the 25 meetings with TU, however the last six meetings have been split with each team winning three. The two teams were originally scheduled to meet last week, on March 21st. However, large rain amounts and cold temperatures have led to poor and unsafe field conditions. The Hurricane and Cowgirls are still schedule to meet at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex during the Bordar War on March 29, at 7 p.m.
Tickets start at $5 for youth and $8 for adults. It is also $0.25 Hot Dog Night at the ball park, while supplies last.
