Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team will close out an 11-game homestand on Wednesday, March 8, by hosting in-state rival Oklahoma at 6 p.m. at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. This will be TU's first non-tournament game of the season, after hosting back-to-back tournaments.
Tulsa and Oklahoma have faced each other 29 times on the softball diamond, with the Sooners holding a decisive historical advantage at 25-4.
However, the Golden Hurricane has taken over the momentum in the series by winning four of the last five games. TU has defeated the Sooners two of the last three Senior Nights in Norman, as well as a pair of victories in Tulsa. Last season OU was ranked as high as fifth in the country when the Hurricane swept the series with a 4-2 victory in Tulsa and a 6-2 win at Norman.
Tulsa enters the game with an 11-5 record on the season, while the Sooners are 15-7-1 on the year and ranked 14th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
Tickets for the game are $8 for adults and $5 for youth.
