HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Mark Dorris scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Marshall to a 65-53 victory over Tulsa on Wednesday night.
Markel Humphrey and Travis Aikens added 15 points apiece as Marshall (6-11, 1-3 Conference USA) ended a three-game losing streak and won its first Conference USA game this season.
Jamal McLean scored 12 points and Rod Earls and Ben Uzoh each added 10 for Tulsa (12-4, 2-1), which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.
Marshall held a double-digit lead for the majority of the second half, but Tulsa cut the deficit to six with 5:50 left on a basket by Uzoh.
However, that was Tulsas only field goal during an eight-minute span and Marshall scored seven straight points to push its lead to 13.
Marshall took a double-digit lead early in the second half with an 11-3 run and used solid defense to keep the Golden Hurricane at a distance.
Tulsa hit just 29 percent (18-of-61) of its field goals.
The Golden Hurricane also had trouble from the foul line, connecting on just 15-of-25 free throws.
