- Tulsa scored on its first offensive play of the game on a 49-yard pass from Paul Smith to Brennan Marion.
- The last time Tulsa scored on their first offensive play in a game was a 48-yard pass from Paul Smith to Ashlan Davis in the regular season finale against Tulane on Nov. 19, 2005.
- Paul Smith established Conference USA single-season records for total offense (breaking Louisville's Chris Redman's mark of 4,009); TD passes (breaking Shaun King of Tulane's mark of 36); passing yards (breaking Louisville's Chris Redman's mark of 4,042).
- Tulsa tied the Conference USA record for touchdown passes (38) on its third TD pass of the game. Tulsa set the new record during the game. The previous C-USA mark of 38 was set by Tulane in 1998.
- Brennan Marion's first TD reception was his 10th of the season, and the first time Tulsa has had a player with double-figure TD receptions since Chris Penn had 12 in the 1993 season.
- Paul Smith went over 4,000 single-season passing yards in the first quarter and had three first quarter passing TDs. His three first quarter TD passes was a first-ever in his career. This year he had two games with two TD passes in the first quarter, coming against BYU and UCF.
- With Nelson Coleman's first tackle of the game he became the school's career tackles leader. He came into the game tied with Michael White (1987, 89-91) with 389 career stops.
- Paul Smith went over the 300-yard passing mark for the 12th straight game this year, and for the 13th time in his career. Smith went over 400 yards passing for the second time this year and in his career. His previous 400+ passing game came against BYU with 474 yards in the second game of the year.
- Tulsa's 20 first quarter points was the most this season, and the most in the last three seasons.
- Paul Smith threw his first interception since going 84 pass attempts without throwing a pickoff. His last interception came in the first quarter at Tulane.
- On Brennan Marion's fourth reception of the game, he surpassed the 1,000 career receiving mark on just his 29th reception of the year. He became the first Tulsa player to surpass the 1,000-yard mark in a season since 2005 when Garrett Mills had 87 receptions for 1,578 yards.
- Ted Curtis, in his first career game playing on defense, had his first tackle for a no gain in the fist quarter.
- Tulsa set school records for most touchdowns scored in a season (breaking the mark of 62 set in 1942) and most total offense plays in a season (breaking the mark of 887 set in 1977).
- Brennan Marion went over 200 receiving yards today marking the first time a Tulsa player has gone over 200 yards receiving since Oct. 14, 2000 when Donald Shoals caught 11 passes for 271 yards against New Mexico State.
- Marion finished the game with 244 yards for the sixth best receiving performance in school history. It's the most since Donald Shoals had 271 yards in 2000 against New Mexico State.
- Tarrion Adams had his fifth 100+ rushing game this year and the seventh in his career. The last time a Tulsa player had five 100+ rushing games in a season was Uril Parrish with five 100+ games in 2004.
- Adams went over 1,000 rushing yards for the season in today's game. He came into the game with 926 rushing yards this year.
- Tulsa scored more than 40 points for the sixth time this season, and for the fourth straight game.
- For the third time this season Paul Smith has now thrown for five touchdowns in one game. He also had five TD passes against BYU and Houston.
