Dyer Named C-USA Hitter of the Week

Junior Sara Dyer was named C-USA's Hitter of the Week after helping TU win the Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival.

Irving, Texas - The University of Tulsa's Sara Dyer is this week's Conference USA Softball Player of the Week after hitting .559 for the week and .571 in the Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival, to lead TU to the tournament championship. The junior was named to the all-tournament team after recording 12 RBI on the weekend and for the week registered a 1.22 slugging percentage, .737 on-base percentage, while hitting safely in all six games, with four multi-hit outings.

Dyer had 10 hits on the week for a .559 batting average, with a team-best 13 RBI to help TU win the Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival. She was named to the all-tournament team after recording the second best batting average for the festival and being the only hitter to reach double-figures in RBI with 12 on the weekend. For the week, the junior registered a 1.22 slugging percentage and a .737 on-base percentage. Dyer recorded at least one hit in all six games, including four multiple hit games. She leads her team in batting average (.426), home runs (4), doubles (6), slugging percentage (.851) and on-base percentage (.742) and has scored half of TU's runs in 2007. This is Dyer's first weekly C-USA softball honor.
