Lubniewski Earns Conference USA Hitter of the Week

Freshman Ashlee Lubniewski hit two home runs against OU and drove in the winning run against UAB to earn her first C-USA Hitter of the Week.

Tulsa, Okla. - Freshman Ashlee Lubniewski (Stockton, Calif.) hit .600 and recorded a slugging percentage of 2.000 for the week, while posting two game-winning hits in consecutive games. Her two home runs against No. 5 Oklahoma were the only runs in a 2-0 Golden Hurricane victory. She also completed TU's comeback against UAB with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth on Saturday.

The freshman notched three extra base hits and recorded three RBI as Tulsa downed both UAB and Oklahoma. Lubniewski leads her team with five home runs, while nine of her 17 hits this season have been for extra bases. This is the first career weekly honor for Lubniewski.

Tulsa returns to action on Tuesday afternoon, concluding their 15-game homestand with a doubleheader against Western Illinois. The twinbill is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex.
