Conference USA Play Opens with UAB on Saturday

Tulsa continues its homestand with three-game series against UAB.

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team will open the Conference USA portion of its schedule by hosting UAB for a three-game series starting Saturday.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday will conclude the series with a single game at 12:00 p.m.

UAB took two games of the three last season, with a pair of one-run victories. The Blazers also defeated the Hurricane in their only other visit to Tulsa in 2003, for a 4-2 advantage in the overall series with TU.

The Golden Hurricane, coming off a no-hit, shut out of No. 5 Oklahoma on Wednesday, will look to defend its Conference USA title. Tulsa enters the contest 12-10 on the year, including a 9-2 record at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. TU has won four consecutive games, including three straight shutouts. The Hurricane has not allowed a run in 25 straight innings.
