Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Marshall head coach Mark Snyder
"I'm very proud of these seniors. They aren't big in numbers but big in heart. I thought they did a tremendous job leading this team. They never let this team quit against a really good team. My hat is off to them for showing our young players the way. As of right now, our juniors are officially seniors; it's time for them to step up. "
"Our guys played very hard but we came up three points short; that seems to be our motto: one point here, two points here. Last year we said we needed to get 10 to 11 points better in the offseason to have a chance at this thing; it's now down to two or three. "
On Brian Anderson:
"Brian sparked us tonight, he played really well. He took shots when they gave them to him and I thought he did really well."
On the season as a whole:
"I think we did improve. The two teams that will probably play in the (C-USA) championship; one beat us by three in overtime and the other one out here tonight by three. I don't think there were any steps taken backwards. There's just where we are right now. "
On Terrell Edwards:
"We've been seeing him come along in practice and that's a part of the maturation process. You have to go through practice and not just throw them out there. We were good enough with Darius (Marshall) and Chubb (Small) to bring him along. Terrell will be ready to roll next year and I thought his play was awesome to see. He understood he couldn't turn the ball over and he responded."
Tulsa head coach Todd Graham
"We're really excited as a team to get our 10th win also clinch the western division title tonight and have an opportunity to compete for the conference championship again for the second year in a row at our place. Our players are really excited and as a program I'm really proud of them in the effort that they have had."
On Marshall:
"I'm going to say something really nice about Mark Snyder and this Marshall team; they gave us everything they got. They played extremely hard. I thought they played really exceptional. It was a big time battle and we were very fortunate to come in here and get a win. It was one of the toughest games we've played."
"We've played exceptional all year except in a few games where we didn't but my deal was if we just took care of our business and didn't worry about someone else. I'm really proud of our guys and coaches. Some jumped off the bandwagon but the race ain't over until it's over."
