Tulsa Looks to Extend Winning Streak Against Rice Owls

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa basketball team plays its second of three straight home games on Wednesday night against the Rice Owls at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Tickets can be purchased for as low as $10.00 by calling the TU athletic ticket office at 631-GoTU (4688) or online at www.tulsahurricane.com. The first 3,000 fans will receive free pompoms.

Tulsa enters the game with an overall 13-10 record and a 5-6 league mark, while Rice has won just three games overall and is still looking for its first Conference USA victory. The Hurricane has won three consecutive games after defeating Southern Miss, East Carolina and UTEP.

This is the 22nd meeting between the two schools, as Tulsa holds a 15-6 advantage in the series. The Hurricane has posted a 9-1 home mark against the Owls and has posted 11 of its 15 wins by double digits.

Last year at Rice's Autry Court, Tulsa outscored the Owls 19-4 and held on for a 73-65 victory, as Ben Uzoh led the way with 14 points and Brett McDade added 12 points for the Hurricane.

McDade is coming off of a career-high 26-point performance against UTEP on Saturday night, while Uzoh leads the Hurricane in scoring this year with a 14.6 average.

Rice will be without its leading scorer and rebounder Paulius Packevicius, while guard Rodney Foster, with a 10.8 scoring average, and forward Patrick Britton, who averages 9.8 points, will led the Owls into Tulsa.
