Tulsa-SMU Post-Game Quotes
Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik:
Opening statement...

"It was a very workman-like game, nothing pretty. In one sense I want to apologize to the fans. It wasn't exactly an exciting game. I really appreciate them being out here on a Saturday afternoon. I am a little concerned. We have been out rebounded two games in a row now. We have to get back to that. Otherwise, we played forty minutes and have seven turnovers. That's fantastic there. Defense was really good, and then two sophomores made big shots. Glenn's (Andrews) jumps shot was a big shot, and then Justin Hurtt hit his huge three on that sideline out of bounds play. Fifteen wins, I think the Tulane and Central Florida game is in overtime. So we are Green Wave fans right now, and if they win we are in sole possession of second place."

On the Tulsa defense... "Well, it is all ball screen offense with them. They just keep setting those ball screens for those guards. I thought between Steven (Idlet), Sam (Mitchell) and Jerome (Jordan), they did a great job for forty minutes of getting up on that from their positioning, at the five position. Bishop is always solid. The kid, (Robert) Nyakundi, he shot it pretty good. He made three threes today, which they had not been shooting real well. They were, I think, five for fifty in the last three away games, and they made seven today. I thought they did a good job on the ball-screen defense, and the wing players did a nice job helping inside and then recovering out to their shooters. Give our guys a lot of credit for that."

On Jerome Jordan versus the taller SMU defenders such as Bamba Fall... "Yeah, it's interesting. He had seven shots. He is making his move and they are digging down on him and he (Bamba Fall) is big enough to step off and wait for him to commit to his move and the block it, alter it or change it. That is good for Jerome. You see where the maturation and the growth can come from."

On Glenn Andrews and Bishop Wheatley... "I thought Glenn was alert at 9:30 this morning when we were shooting and he was alert all day. I thought he played a really good game and gave us good minutes. I was trying to end the game with him at the point, to be honest with you. I was trying to see if we could close it out with Ben on the bench and I elected to go with Ben late. It is nice to see these other guys. Unfortunately Bishop didn't get many looks. He only had three looks. A lot of it was that their man (defense) was a sagging man and then a lot of the time it was a zone. However, when we got the ball to Bishop in the middle of the zone he made some very good passes, particularly the one to the baseline for Jerome's dunk."
