HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Jerome Jordan scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lift Tulsa over Southern Miss 67-58 on Wednesday night in the Conference USA opener for both teams.
Southern Miss (9-5, 0-1) led until Tulsa (10-5, 1-0) tied the game at 56 on a jump shot by Bishop Wheatly with 7:18 left in the game.
The Golden Hurricane took its first lead at 60-58 on a jump shot by Jordan with 4:39 to go.
Jordan had his fifth double-double of the season and Ray Reese and Bishop added 14 and 12 points, respectively, for Tulsa.
The Golden Eagles were led by Craig Craft with 12 points. Courtney Beasley, Andre Stephens and R.L. Horton added 11 apiece for Southern Miss.
Tulsa won its second straight game, while the Golden Eagles had a five-game winning streak snapped.
