Tulsa Plays Marshall-Rice Winner in C-USA Tournament

Irving, Texas - Tulsa completed the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 60-50 win over Rice in Houston, Texas. The Hurricane enters this week's Conference USA Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will play on Thursday at 12 noon at Memphis' FedEx Forum.
Tulsa will play the winner of the Marshall-Rice match-up in the quarterfinals. The Marshall-Rice game will be played on Wednesday at 12 noon.
Tulsa finished the regular season with an overall 22-9 record and a 12-4 league mark. Marshall, the No. 7 seed, is 15-16 overall and 7-9 in C-USA, while No. 10 seed Rice has records of 9-21 overall and 4-12 in league play.
The Hurricane won both games against the Marshall Thundering Herd this season. Tulsa captured a 69-50 home victory on January 17th, and won by 16 points, 73-57, in early February in Huntington, WV. Tulsa's game on Saturday at Rice was the only meeting between the two teams this season.
Tulsa leads both series, including a 5-2 edge against Marshall, winning the last three contests. The Hurricane now has a 17-6 advantage in the Rice series.
Last year, Tulsa was the No. 6 seed and advanced to the championship finals after wins against East Carolina (66-49) and overtime wins over UAB (78-68) in the quarterfinals and 64-62 in a semifinal win over UTEP. Tulsa lost in the championship game to No. 1 seed and the No. 2-ranked team in the nation, Memphis.
