Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa men's basketball team will play a late season non-conference game at Duke in the 2009-10 season. The game is scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

"We're excited to have the opportunity to play Duke," said Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik. "Over the last 25 years Duke basketball has arguably been the best program in the country. This is a great opportunity for our University and in particular this team. Duke was the No. 1 RPI team at the end of the regular season last year, and no doubt will be near the top again, so playing this game will definitely help build our RPI.

"It will be a good game for our senior class. They have accomplished so much and deserve to play one of the nation's top-ranked programs," said Wojcik. "For seniors Ben (Uzoh), Jerome (Jordan) and Bishop (Wheatley) it gives them the opportunity to showcase their abilities against a great ACC program."

This is the first-ever visit for the Hurricane to Duke. The two teams have played twice before, first in the 1996 Preseason NIT Semifinals and later in the 1999 NCAA Second Round. Duke won both of those contests.

Tulsa is coming off of a 25-11 season and second-place finish in Conference USA. The Hurricane has recently been ranked 21st nationally by ESPN.com's Andy Katz. A year ago, Duke posted a 30-7 overall record and had a 16-1 mark at home. The Blue Devils advanced to the East Regional semifinals before being ousted by Final Four team Villanova.

Duke is ranked 10th nationally in Andy Katz's pre-fall poll.

"Personally, I've always been a Mike Krzyzewski fan and have had a long-standing relationship with Coach K. We lost to Duke to advance to the Final Four when I was a player at Navy, Coach K is an Army guy and I'm a Navy guy, and my Athletic Director Bubba Cunningham worked for Duke's Athletic Director Kevin White at Notre Dame," added Wojcik.

Wojcik is very familiar with Cameron Indoor Stadium. "I sat on the opposing bench at Cameron for three seasons while I was an assistant coach at North Carolina," said Wojcik.

The Tulsa basketball schedule will be announced at a later date.
