The University of Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Northwestern State on Sunday afternoon in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Golden Hurricane fell to 3-3-2 on the season, while the Demons moved to 7-2 overall.
"We played really well," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "I feel we played a complete game for the first time all season. We out-shot them, out-played them, but we just didn't get the win. I am really proud of the way we played. We need to play like this for the rest of the season, but we have to find a way to put the ball into the back of the net."
Rachel O'Steen scored the only goal of the game at the 24:40 mark off a cross from Caroline Seago.
Emily McElrath, Sarah Greene and Lindsay Kirch led the Golden Hurricane attack with three shots apiece, while Katie Bykowski logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up four saves.
TU out shot NSU, 13-11, but both teams had five shots on goal and three corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Friday, Sept. 25th against UTEP. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. in El Paso, Texas.
