WHITEOUT... Tulsa and Memphis Meet Saturday Night

Tulsa, Oklahoma - It's a WHITEOUT at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Saturday night, as Tulsa puts its 23-game home winning streak on the line against the team that last defeated the Golden Hurricane. The Memphis Tigers visit the Hurricane for a 6:00 pm (CT) tip-off in front of a national television audience on ESPN2.

Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game. The first 5,000 fans will receive a White TU Basketball T-shirt, and fans will be asked to make donations to the Haiti Relief Fund, sponsored by the TU Student Association.

The Hurricane will also be looking for its 20th win of the season, as Tulsa comes into the game with a 19-5 record and an 8-2 Conference USA mark, Memphis has a 17-7 mark and 7-2 league record.

Last year on January 13th, Memphis' Antonio Anderson took the ball the full distance of the court in 4.5 seconds and lofted a double-clutch five-footer over Tulsa's seven-foot center Jerome Jordan to five the Tigers a 55-54 victory. That game marked the last time that the Hurricane lost at the Reynolds Center.

Memphis comes into the game led by sophomore Elliot Williams' 19.2 scoring average, while fellow sophomore Wesley Witherspoon chips in with 12.2 points per game. The Tigers won their 1,400th career game in school history against UCF on Wednesday night.

The Hurricane captured an eight-point victory on Wednesday night against Southern Miss, while Jerome Jordan scored a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tulsa is led by senior guard Ben Uzoh's 15.4 points and 4.3 assists, while junior Justin Hurtt tallies 14.1 points. Jordan averages 15.0 points and team-highs of 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.

The game is also Legends Day as former Hurricane basketball stars will be recognized at halftime. Legendary Willie Biles, a Tulsa All-American and Memphis native, will have his jersey No. 12 retired at halftime as well.

Tickets still remained Friday at close of business, and can be purchased online at www.TulsaHurricane.com until 4 pm Saturday, and in person at the Reynolds Center ticket office beginning at 4:30 pm.
