Softball Takes on Arkansas in Doubleheader Wednesday

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team continues its long home stand with a midweek doubleheader against Arkansas Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex.

Tulsa (18-13) is hitting .281 (236-for-840) on the season with 147 runs, 138 RBI, 37 doubles, 34 home runs, 97 walks, a .446 slugging percentage and a .360 on-base percentage. TU pitchers carry a 3.39 ERA in 210.1 innings, allowing 198 hits, 122 runs, 102 earned runs, 100 walks and 230 strikeouts, and a .246 opponent batting average.
Tulsa is led in hitting by senior right fielder Lauren Lindsay who is hitting .433 (42-for-97) with 29 runs, 32 RBI, eight doubles, 14 home runs, 19 walks, a .948 slugging percentage, and a .525 on-base percentage. Freshman shortstop Samantha Cobb leads the team with 32 RBI and is hitting .358 (38-for-106) with 20 runs, 10 home runs, five doubles, five walks, a .689 slugging percentage and a .395 on-base percentage. Freshman center fielder Caitlin Everett is hitting .300 (30-for-100) with 19 runs, 13 RBI, three doubles, 10 walks and a .357 on-base percentage.
In the circle, freshman Kalynn Schrock is 7-3 with a 2.79 ERA and has allowed 37 hits, 28 runs, 23 earned runs, 30 walks, 78 strikeouts and a .180 Opp. BA in 57.2 innings. Junior Jordan Kinard is 5-5 with a 3.78 ERA and has allowed 73 hits, 43 runs, 38 earned runs, 40 walks, 79 strikeouts and a .268 opponent batting average in 70.1 innings. Senior Jackie Lawrence is 6-5 with a 3.49 ERA and has allowed 88 hits, 51 runs, 41 earned runs, 30 walks, 73 strikeouts and a .270 opponent batting average in 82.1 innings.
Arkansas (21-11) enters the game with a .260 batting average (214-for-823) with 156 runs, 145 RBI, 39 doubles, 40 home runs, 131 walks, a .453 slugging percentage, and a .370 on-base percentage. Razorback pitchers carry a 2.71 ERA in 217.1 innings, allowing 225 hits, 120 runs, 84 earned runs, 67 walks, 182 strikeouts and a .268 opponent batting average.
Arkansas' leading hitter is senior outfielder Jessica Bachkora, who is hitting .412 with 40 runs scored, 26 RBI, 11 doubles, 12 home runs, 21 walks, a .873 slugging percentage and a .528 on-base percentage. Senior third baseman Sandra Smith hits .365 and leads the team with 36 RBI. She has also scored 18 runs, hit six doubles, eight home runs, and has a .677 slugging percentage and a .474 on-base percentage. The Razorbacks are led in the circle by freshman right-hander Hope McLemore, who leads the team with a 2.15 ERA, allowing 74 hits, 37 runs, 29 earned runs, 37 walks, 91 strikeouts, and a .218 opponent batting average in 94.1 innings. Junior right-hander Layne McGuirt has a 2.87 ERA, allowing 36 runs, 25 earned runs, 10 walks, 50 strikeouts and a .315 opponent batting average in 61.0 innings.
Tulsa trails Arkansas in the all-time series, 10-7. The two teams split last season, with the Razorbacks winning the regular season game in the Border War, 9-5. The Golden Hurricane captures the postseason matchup in the first round of the NCAA Regional, 6-0. The teams also split the regular season-postseason series in 2008, and TU defeated Arkansas in 2006.
