Tulsa Freshman Cornerback Dwight Dobbins

On his experience in the game after getting his first start, first interception and first touchdown
Coach (Van) Malone told me I was going to start at the beginning of the week so I was excited all week at practice. Then, when I got the interception I just took off for the end zone.

On what he was feeling while celebrating his first touchdown
My head was running wild. It was crazy.

On how he felt he played in his first start
I thought I did pretty well, I held my own for the most part. We still need to get better as a whole.

Tulsa Junior Safety Dexter McCoil

On how the defense played as a whole
We came out ready to play, we should have stopped them more in the fourth quarter, but I think overall we had a good game. The yardage might not show up, but I think we played hard and came out to play.

On the confidence the defense gained from creating turnovers in the game
It gives us a lot of confidence, going into the bye week we played well and we're looking forward to going into conference play.

On how a quality win over North Texas will carry into the bye week and to the UAB game
You never want to go into a bye week after a loss, so it's good that we've got the momentum going into the bye week and UAB.

On his interception return for a touchdown
I think I ran kind of slow, but I'm just thanking God for all my teammates because I would not have made it to the end zone without them.

Tulsa Junior Wide Receiver Bryan Burnham

On how well the offense played
It started in practice, this week we started really fast from the get-go. So I think that's what happened today. Our goal was to start fast and end fast, and that's what we did.

On how the touchdown on the first drive increased confidence for the offense
It got us going, we were really close. It just escalated our confidence and we're ready for the bye week

On having his first 100-yard receiving game
I'm pretty happy, I'm happier about the win obviously. But it's nice to get that first 100-yard game, I appreciate (TU quarterback) G.J. (Kinne) putting the ball up for me.

North Texas Head Coach Dan McCarney

Opening Statement
We lost to an outstanding Tulsa football team. They played tonight like the team we though they were. They haven't held themselves back this year it has been the competition. They played three of the Top 5 teams in America. They are a really good football team and they are going to win a lot of football games and we made their jobs easier tonight with some of the mistakes we made. I take nothing away from the way they play and the way they coach because that was a really good football team we played tonight.

On winning the time of possession
We were moving the ball and moving the sticks. We had over 400 yards of offense against a team that has won 36 games in the last four years and didn't get the points to show for that. It was a big positive for us to move the ball but the bad thing is we made too many mistakes that kept us off the scoreboard.

Senior Running Back Lance Dunbar

On the slow start
We came out slow and didn't execute our offense. We made mistakes and put ourselves back. It really killed us.

On first half miscues
We shot ourselves in the foot. We had chances to score and we didn't execute. One was a high snap and the other was a bad pitch. We did it to ourselves, and it hurts. We know we had a chance to win this game but we didn't execute and we didn't play smart enough.

On a better performance in the second half
We didn't quit and that is something Coach [McCarney] wanted us to do - keep fighting.
