• Junior safety Dexter McCoil recorded his second interception of the season and ninth of his career at the 2:46 mark of the fourth quarter.

• Sears ended the game with 105 yards on nine receptions. It marked the first time a Tulsa tight end had more than 100 receiving yards since Garrett Mills caught eight receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown against UCF in the 2005 C-USA championship game (12/3/05).

• Sears' two touchdowns also marked the first time a Tulsa tight end has done so since Mills caught two touchdowns against SMU (10/22/05).
