Cobb and Everett Named to Preseason All-C-USA Team

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa sophomores Samantha Cobb and Caitlin Everett were named to the preseason All-Conference USA Team, and the Golden Hurricane was picked fourth in a poll of the league's coaches, the C-USA office announced.
Cobb and Everett, both All-C-USA Second-Team and C-USA All-Freshman Team performers in 2010, return to anchor the Hurricane lineup in 2011. Tulsa, picked to finish fourth in the league this season, has never finished below third place in its five years as a member of C-USA. The Golden Hurricane has won two regular season championships - in 2006 and 2009, as well as the C-USA Tournament titles in the same respective years.
Cobb, a shortstop, who started all 52 games last season, led Tulsa with 53 RBI, and hit .328 with a TU freshman-record 15 home runs. She also scored 33 runs, slugged .621, had a .366 on-base percentage and stole 11 bases. Cobb led TU with six home runs and 22 RBI in 20 C-USA games, and tallied .600 slugging and .351 on-base percentages.
Everett, who started all 52 games in center field in 2010 posting a .353 batting average, led Tulsa with 61 hits and 20 stolen bases. She scored 40 runs and drove in 18 runs, tallying a .397 on-base percentage. She hit .397 in C-USA games with a .434 on-base percentage, led TU with 28 hits and scored 19 runs in 20 league contests.
