Softball Takes on Indiana, Northern Iowa Tuesday

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team welcomes Indiana and Northern Iowa to the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex Tuesday for a triple-header beginning at 1 p.m.
The Golden Hurricane (17-7, 3-0 C-USA) plays Northern Iowa (12-8) at 1 p.m., and Indiana (12-10) at 5 p.m. The Panthers and Hoosiers face each other in the sandwich game at 3 p.m.

Tulsa is hitting .286 (172-for-602) with 96 RBI, 110 runs, 30 doubles, four triples and nine home runs, and has a .394 slugging percentage and a .363 on-base percentage with 71 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.87 team ERA with 193 strikeouts, 70 walks, 102 hits, 49 runs and 42 earned runs allowed, and has a .182 opponent batting average.
Tulsa is led in hitting by sophomore center fielder Caitlin Everett who is hitting .405 (30-for-74) with 15 runs, 10 RBI, a .446 slugging percentage and a .476 OBP. Junior second baseman Skylar Swanson hits .368 (14-for-38) with five doubles, three homers, 12 RBI and 14 runs scored, along with a .737 slugging percentage and a .500 OBP. Sophomore shortstop Samantha Cobb hits .366 (26-for-71) with 17 RBI, 12 runs, four doubles, a homer, nine walks, a .465 slugging percentage and a .422 OBP.
In the circle, freshman Aimee Creger is 9-1 with a 1.01 ERA in 62.1 innings, and has allowed 22 hits, 12 runs and nine earned runs, with 103 strikeouts and 29 walks. Sophomore Lacey Middlebrooks is 5-2 with a 2.25 ERA in 53.0 innings, and has allowed 44 hits, 21 runs and 17 earned runs, with 42 strikeouts and 30 walks. Senior Jordan Kinard is 3-4 with a 2.69 ERA and has allowed 36 hits, 16 runs and 16 earned runs, with 48 strikeouts and 11 walks in 41.2 innings.
This will be the 17th meeting between Tulsa and Northern Iowa; UNI leads the series between former Missouri Valley Conference rivals, 10-6. The Panthers defeated the Golden Hurricane last season, 8-0, in Tulsa. This will be the ninth meeting between Tulsa and Indiana; TU leads the series, 5-3. Two years ago, the Hurricane went to Bloomington and defeated the Hoosiers, 3-0, and, 7-5.
