HOUSTON - Aimee Creger pitched a complete-game shutout and drove in the winning run to lead the Tulsa softball team to a 1-0 win in 11 innings at Conference USA foe Houston Sunday afternoon at Cougar Softball Field.

The Golden Hurricane (33-11, 14-4 C-USA) salvaged a game in the series and sits alone in second place in the C-USA standings with first-place UAB coming to town next weekend. TU also secured its first ever win at Houston (31-14, 13-5 C-USA).

Creger (16-2) struck out three batters and allowed seven hits and three walks in the 11-inning stint, her longest of the season. UH reliever Diedre Outon (3-1) pitched the final three innings and allowed the game's lone run.

After shutting down Houston for 10 innings, including the previous four in potential game-winning situations, Creger stepped to the plate in the top of the 11th inning with runners at second and third with no outs. She drove a single into right field, scoring Samantha Cobb for the winning run.

In the bottom of the 11th, Creger got three pop ups around a walk to seal the victory. Those were three of 18 outs hit up in the air by the Cougars on the day.

Tulsa's score was set up by a leadoff base hit by Cobb and a two-base error by Skylar Swanson.

The Golden Hurricane travels to Kansas for a midweek doubleheader Wednesday, beginning at 3 p.m. TU will welcome UAB to town for a three-game C-USA set Friday and Saturday.
