Softball on the Road at Kansas

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team is on the road again at Kansas for its final midweek road doubleheader of the season at 3 p.m. at Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence, Kan.

Tulsa (33-11, 14-4 C-USA) is hitting .277 (315-for-1137) with 167 RBI, 191 runs, 53 doubles, six triples and 23 home runs, and has a .395 slugging percentage and a .347 on-base percentage with 117 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.83 team ERA with 345 strikeouts, 135 walks, 188 hits, 93 runs and 77 earned runs allowed, and has a .180 opponent batting average.
Kansas (28-17, 1-13 Big 12) hits .288 (338-for-1174) with 218 RBI, 243 runs, 43 doubles, three triples and 50 home runs, and has a .457 slugging percentage and a .381 on-base percentage with 151 walks. The Jayhawks have a 3.56 team ERA with 167 strikeouts, 141 walks, 323 hits, 187 runs, and 146 earned runs allowed and a .279 opponent batting average.
Tulsa is led in hitting by sophomore center fielder Caitlin Everett who is hitting .362 (50-for-138) with 24 runs, 16 RBI, a .413 slugging percentage and a .432 OBP. Senior first baseman Kelly Chapman is hitting .323 (31-for-96) with 16 RBI, 22 runs, eight doubles, four homers, a .531 slugging percentage and a .411 on-base percentage. Sophomore shortstop Samantha Cobb hits .328 (44-for-134) with 31 RBI, 23 runs, nine doubles, three homers, 14 walks, a .463 slugging percentage and a .388 OBP.
In the circle, freshman Aimee Creger is 16-2 with a 0.94 ERA in 127.0 innings, and has allowed 51 hits, 22 runs and 17 earned runs, with 176 strikeouts and 53 walks. Senior Jordan Kinard is 8-5 with a 2.46 ERA and has allowed 72 hits, 35 runs and 32 earned runs, with 104 strikeouts and 36 walks in 91.0 innings. Sophomore Lacey Middlebrooks is 9-4 with a 2.53 ERA in 77.1 innings, and has allowed 65 hits, 36 runs and 28 earned runs, with 65 strikeouts and 46 walks.
Tulsa and Kansas have played 13 times; Kansas leads, 8-5. The teams split the doubleheader the last time they played, in 2009; KU won 6-3 and TU won 4-0 in Tulsa. Each team won a game in Tulsa's tournament in 2007, and the Jayhawks won the only game played in 2006. The Golden Hurricane is 1-3 all time at Kansas, and 2-3 vs. the Jayhawks since 2006.
