Tulsa Takes Game 1 from UAB, 2-1

TULSA, Okla. - Shelby Blanton hit a two-run home run and Aimee Creger pitched a complete game to lead The Tulsa softball team to a 2-1 game-one win over UAB Friday afternoon at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex.
Creger (18-2) struck out nine batters and allowed just two hits and a pair of walks in the win.
Jill Barrett, Skylar Swanson and Aimee Creger each had hits, as the Hurricane totaled five hits in the ballgame.
Blanton put Tulsa on the board in the fourth inning with her first homer of the season, a two-run blast to right center field. The homer scored Creger, who reached on a one-out single to left field.
UAB threatened with the runners at second and third with no outs in the third inning, but Creger induced two pop ups and a strike out to get out of the inning unscathed.
