Recap |  Box Score

Tulsa Head Coach John Bargfeldt

Opening Statement
"Jordan (Kinard) has had some success against East Carolina in her career so instead of throwing Aimee (Creger) on two days of pitching I went with a fresh arm. Jordan had trouble throwing strikes on one side of the plate but (Priscilla) Velasquez put a great swing on the ball and drove in three runs. We had an opportunity in the first inning to push some across with the bases loaded but just couldn't get it done"

On Tulsa's NCAA Tournament prospects
"I really think we have done enough to put ourselves in a regional. We came up short today but we still have goals we want to accomplish."

On multiple Conference USA squads receiving regional bids
"I think there is no doubt in my mind that five teams from our conference have a legitimate shot to get in the NCAA Tournament. The thing about these teams is each one has pitcher that can beat anyone on a given day. That is what was so nerve-racking about this tournament. You saw UAB and Houston eliminated because of some excellent pitching. I am proud of our players doing what they needed to do to get to the championship game."

Senior First Baseman Kelly Chapman

Opening Statement
"We knew it would be a tough task playing ECU on its home field. We wanted to stay within ourselves, play our game and above all, compete."

On the possibility of receiving a NCAA regional bid
"We fully believe we have done enough to warrant a selection to a regional. Our record is good and we have beaten some great teams."

On her home run
"(Toni) Paisley was pitching me all inside my first time at bat. I was looking for a pitch to drive and it finally appeared. I just took a hack at it and it went out."
