• Tonight's game marked the sixth all-time meeting with Boise State and the first since Oct. 14, 2009. This was also the first time Tulsa traveled to Boise since Oct. 11, 2003. TU is now 0-6 all-time against the Broncos and 0-3 in Boise, Idaho.
• The TU captains were seniors G.J. Kinne, Clint Anderson, Curnelius Arnick, Tyrunn Walker and Milton Howell.
• The attendance for tonight's game was 34,019. The home opener for No. 4 Boise State was the fourth-largest crowd in Bronco Stadium history.
• Tulsa faced its fourth nationally-ranked opponent in five games dating back to last year. Boise State entered the game ranked No. 4 in both the USA Today and the Associate Press polls. Tulsa played consensus No. 1 Oklahoma in the season opener, faced No. 7/8 Oklahoma State on Sept. 18 and played No. 24 Hawai'i in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl at the end of last season.
• Senior quarterback G.J. Kinne started his 29th-straight game.
• Tulsa freshman punter Cole Way had his first punt returned this season. His first 20 punts went unreturned, and the first punt tonight was a nine-yard return by Chris Potter.
• This is Coach to Cure MD Week. To help raise awareness, the Golden Hurricane coaching staff wore patches on their shoulders during tonight's contest.
• Tulsa recorded 155 rushing yards to just 131 by Boise State. The Golden Hurricane has outrushed its opponents in the last three contests.
• Through four games, the Golden Hurricane has yet to score a first-quarter touchdown.
• Boise State scored 27 points in the opening half. That total was the second-fewest allowed by Tulsa in its four games this season (31 to Oklahoma State and 30 to Oklahoma).
• TU outscored BSU 21-14 in the second half.
• Senior linebacker Curnelius Arnick tied his career high with 18 tackles. The last time he recorded 18 tackles was in the season opener against No. 1 Oklahoma on Sept. 3. Arnick's previous career high for tackles in a single game entering the 2011 season was 12.
• Arnick has 55 tackles through four games this season, and he is averaging 13.8 tackles per game.
• Freshman defensive lineman Brentom Todd recorded first-career sack at the 2:09 mark of the third quarter. The sack was also the first allowed by Boise State all season.
• Senior quarterback G.J. Kinne set his career high with four interceptions.
• Sophomore linebacker Shawn Jackson forced his first fumble of the season midway through the fourth quarter when he hit Boise State quarterback Joe Southwick deep in Tulsa territory. He also recorded his third-career forced fumble.
• The fumble was recovered by junior defensive end Cory Dorris, which was his first fumble recovery of the season. He picked up his first-career fumble recovery.
• Sophomore running back Trey Watts recorded his first rushing TD of the season with a three-yard rush at 4:11 of the third quarter. He has now scored two touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air.
• Junior H-back Willie Carter scored on an eight-yard catch with 14:55 to play in the fourth quarter. The score was Carter's first of the season.
• Junior wide receiver Ricky Johnson caught his first touchdown of the season at the 3:19 mark of the fourth quarter with a 13-yard pass from redshirt freshman quarterback Kalen Henderson. Henderson now has three TD passes in the last two games.
• With the loss, Tulsa falls to 15-57 all-time against ranked opponents.
